Join us for an intentional journey to connect more deeply with yourself and set clarify your intention heading into the fall at the Equinox.
September 20th, 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at a yurt in Potomac.
In this journeying exploration participants typically find a comfortable position and turn their awareness inwards with the sound of the drum into their own trance experience. There are several drumming sessions through the course of the evening with time for writing and drawing, sharing and integration of personal experiences. Patrick Marsolek facilitates this process by setting the space, sharing intentions in the group, explaining and demystifying trance states, providing the drumming for each session, and offering perspective for people’s experiences.
Session will take place at a yurt in Potomac. Address and directions will be sent to you when you register. Plan on an approximately 45 minute drive to and from the location.
Fee: by flexible amount – donation $25 to $50.

The frame drums used in the process are played in a fast, simple rhythm between 180 and 220 beats per minute, which is intended to ‘quiet’ the conscious mind and allow participants to drift into their own relaxed trance state with imagery, with somatic and sensory experiences.
With each ‘wave’ of drumming and talking, each person’s shared experiences also become part of the group mind of the session. Thus each individual experience can take on more meaning to others and the whole group.
Participants are welcome to drum or rattle during the journeying if they choose although are also encouraged to just receive the drumming in a relaxed posture sitting or lying down. Floor chairs will be provided. Bring a pillow and blanket for relaxing!
